Workgroups
Introduction
The NCHICA Board of Directors formed the HIPAA Implementation
Planning Task force in 1999 after recognizing the complexity
of HIPAA compliance and responding to a request from its membership.
The goals of this task force were to develop an overall strategy
for addressing HIPAA compliance in the most orderly and efficient
manner possible. The task force was also charged with coordinating
activities of its workgroups as well as develop methods to
assist the healthcare community in complying with HIPAA.
NCHICA's HIPAA efforts continue to receive national attention
and recognition because of the scope and breadth in addressing
all aspects of HIPAA as well as for the collaborative effort
maintained by involvement of representatives from all aspects
of the health care community.
